Former Palmer Trinity teacher, Ms. Suris returned to speak to ESOL History class to share her powerful story of coming to the U.S. as a child during the 1960s Peter Pan Flights. She vividly recounted the emotional journey of leaving Cuba, the uncertainty of her new life and the heartache of being separated from her parents. Her narrative, filled with both struggle and hope, culminated in a joyful family reunion after years apart. Julie’s story highlighted the resilience of the Cuban exodus and the enduring power of family, sacrifice and perseverance.
