  • Cooking Through Cultural Heritage

    In today’s diverse world, it can be both challenging and time-consuming to honor and celebrate the unique cultural traditions of our communities. Cooking Through Cultural Heritage is a dynamic, hands-on course designed to make this process accessible, engaging, and enjoyable for students. This course is specifically tailored to bring cultural diversity to life through food, storytelling, and creative exploration.

        The purpose of this course is to introduce Chinese language and culture from the perspectives of arts, myths, movies, festivals, Chinese food, teas, medicine, and architecture, etc. The audience are students who are interested in Chinese food, teas, art forms and language. For those who have never taken Chinese class, basic phrases/knowledge will be reviewed.

          • Girl Talk: A Workshop on Navigating Middle School and Building Friendship, Resilience & Emotional Regulation Skills

            Making new friends and navigating friendships in middle school can be a little intimidating. Is your rising 6th grade daughter excited, but simultaneously scared to start middle school? Does your rising 7th grade daughter want to learn more about friendship and dealing with drama in middle school? This course is dedicated to helping rising 6th and 7th grade girls acclimate to middle school, in an upbeat, fun way, navigating what it means to be a good friend, balancing academics, learning healthy conflict resolution skills, and exploring the topics of relational aggression, empathy, strengthening relationships, and emotional regulation. This course will invite parents to provide feedback via pre/post-Google surveys to help tailor the course to the student's interests and abilities.

              • IB Extended Essay

                What makes an exceptional Extended Essay? How can students refine their research to meet academic standards while maintaining a personal voice? In this course, students will learn how to transform their Extended Essay drafts into polished, high-quality final products. Emphasizing the development of critical thinking, effective writing strategies, and mastery of formal academic conventions, this class will guide students through the revision process. Students will explore how to refine their arguments, enhance their analysis, and incorporate feedback to improve structure, coherence, and clarity. By studying examples of outstanding essays, conducting peer reviews, and engaging in hands-on workshops, students will gain practical tools to elevate their work.

                • Intro to Engineering Design and Modeling

                  Students will be introduced to the engineering design process to plan, sketch, and model solutions in response to a real-world scenario. They will engage in Tinkercad, an online design program, to create their 3-D designs and learn to bring them to life using 3-D printers. Students will also learn orthographic sketching techniques to visualize designs from different perspectives. Whether they dream of becoming future engineers, designers, or innovators, this course will inspire creativity and critical thinking through the power of design and technology.

                      • Words in Motion: Crafting and Publishing Poetry and Short Stories

                        "Words in Motion," is an immersive and dynamic course designed for upper school students in grades 9-11 who are passionate about writing and eager to explore the world of poetry and short stories. This course will guide students through the creative process of writing, revising, and ultimately learning how to publish their work. For five days, students will engage in hands-on activities, peer collaboration, and insightful discussions that will enhance their writing skills and provide them with the creative tools necessary to share their stories with the world.

                        "Words in Motion" is not just a course; it is an opportunity for students to unleash their creativity, refine their writing skills, and gain confidence in sharing their work. By the end of this course, students will have a deeper understanding of the writing and publishing process, as well as a portfolio of their own poetry and short stories ready for submission. Join us on this exciting journey of words and imagination!

                        • Write On: Improve My Writing Skills from Good to Great

                          Welcome to "Write On! Improve My Writing Skills from Good to Great," a dynamic and engaging course designed specifically for grades 8-10 students. This intensive 4-day course is designed to enhance the writing skills of students preparing to enter upper school to current upper school students who want to elevate their writing abilities. Each day focuses on specific writing skills such as annotations and preparation for the summer reading essay in the fall. The course will help students build organization and a strong essay structure. “Write On” will combine engaging instruction, hands-on activities, and peer collaboration to foster a love for writing, improve proficiency, and prepare students for their upcoming school year.

                                        Come out and kick it with us to develop, polish, or simply just have fun with the game of soccer.  Varsity Boys Soccer Coach Tunde Adeyemi will be implementing proper warm-up drills, team activities, and fun soccer games. This clinic consists of Group Stretch and Calisthenics Movements, Field Training (Solo Drills/Team Drills), and Creative Games and Competition!  This is a great way for your child to build confidence and learn teamwork while improving their soccer skills.

                                              This Tennis Camp will be tailored to help players improve their skills, strategy, and fitness by playing tennis on the Palmer Trinity School courts.  Players will be grouped into similar skill levels in order to develop each player to their best potential while enjoying the great game of tennis.  Coach Kevin Chow will focus on teaching forehand, backhand, overhead, and serving, along with a strategy for playing singles and doubles tennis.

                                                              The Palmer Trinity School Volleyball Camp is both exciting and fun for all. All demonstrations will be conducted by Coach Gonzalez.  William Gonzalez earned his Masters Degree in Sports Science and Physical Education in Havana, Cuba. He was Head Coach of the men's and women's teams at the University of Havana. Coach Gonzalez has been the Head Coach at Palmer Trinity School for the past 20 years. He took his team to the State Championship tournaments (2005 and 2016 semi-finals and 2008 and 2015 state runner-up) and won thirteen District Championships. Coach Gonzalez has also been chosen All-Dade Coach of the Year four times (04, 05, 08, 09 and 2015) by The Miami Herald and has been selected to receive the 2010 Coach of the Year Award at the state level in the sport of volleyball, for the NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations). During the 2015 season, he was recognized for winning the 300th games of his coaching career at Palmer Trinity School.
                                                               
                                                              This camp will focus on individual skill development while introducing team concepts both offensively and defensively. Game tactics will be introduced through modified games, wash drills and 6 v 6. Players will be divided based on skill level for match play.  Previous experience is not necessary.

                                                                Pick up and Drop off:

                                                                  - Pick up and Drop off is only 15 minutes prior to the start time of the camp and no later than 15 minutes after program ends.

                                                                  - All indoor camps are to be dropped off at the PTS Gym 
                                                                  - All outdoor camps are to be dropped off at the Kipp Fieldhouse or Baseball field

                                                                Camp Cancellations:

                                                                  - Camp cancellation is subject to enrollment.  Notification will be one week prior to the start date of camp.

                                                                Rain Delay:

                                                                  - Classroom sessions will be provided for outdoor camps in case of weather delay.  Each coach will provide further information.

                                                                Lunch:

                                                                  - Lunch is included in the registration cost and served weekly from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
